This is such a versatile, fun and festive 2 piece vintage black velvet evening dress and jacket ensemble designed by Margaretha Ley in the 1980's for Escada.

Both the jacket and dress are trimmed with gold beads and coordinating sequins in rows of blue, fuschia pink, red and green. The strapless dress is fully lined, closing with a side zipper. The hem hits just above the knee. The matching black velvet blazer jacket that has a slight peplum from the fitted waist. The jacket has built in shoulder pads for just enough structure and signature heavy Escada gold buttons that are embellished with enamel diamonds in the same colors as the stripes.

The velvet fabric is a cotton and rayon blend, and both garments are fully lined in black rayon logo lining. Made in Italy.

This ensemble is deadstock with the original tags on the dress, and has never been worn! It is in excellent, unworn condition. The dress is marked as a size 36, and the jacket a 34. The dress runs small in the bust, so the entire ensemble measures more like a US size 4/6.
